hi may i know you adblock choise for your browser ? i'm using now ublock origin but i'm considered to switch to adguard, reading some review ,it's almost light like ublock orign ,but at least update filters frenquently thanks
I was using Ublock origin since today.I am trying adguard and I really like it.Pages are more responsive.I will try adguard for a few days and than decide which to use.
Hello, Another µBlock Origin and µMatrix user here. I am very happy with this combo and for me nothing else comes close...
I still use ABP + Ghostery on both Opera 12 and Firefox. When I switch to Vivaldi I will most likely continue to use them.
hi me too , what i don't like about ublock origin is that my list are still not updated , i kept firefox idle nothing about adguard , do you know how many often checks for update? every day ? thanks
I have used Adblock plus for more than seven years, never taken it down, no reason to switch. Works great as always. No conflicts of any kind with Sandboxie and does an excellent job for me along NoScript. Bo
I do not know how often adguard updates. But for the last month ublock origin is not updating automatically,I am updating it manually.
Hi Overkill. I dont change what works great. That has been the case for me with Adblock plus for more than 7 years. You know, in this 7 years, not once I have uninstalled ABP or NoScript because I suspected they conflicted some how with other programs or caused delays, or bothered me or broke the internet or nothing. Bo
On Firefox and Chromium (Ubuntu) I use uBlock Origin as it's the only really effective adblocker now IMO. On Windows I use K-Meleon's inbuilt adblocker which works well in conjunction with the privacy bar to control JS. Maxthon is my back-up on Windows and it has ABP buit-in. I often watch streamed/catch up TV in SeaMonkey with BluHell Firewall as it allows the videos to play but cuts out the adverts. K-Meleon's adblocker can do this on many sites as well.
I know you do, you are a good guy. I probably would feel the same way about Ublock as I feel about ABP if Ublock had been around when I started using ad blockers and chosen to use it instead of ABP. I have never used any other ad blocker other than ABP. Not even tested it. Thats something thats easy for us using SBIE to do but just never had the curiosity to see how any other ad blocker feels or work. I read the complains about ABP but they dont apply to me. Bo.
It works great as a second layer ad blocker... together with an extension of your choice (ublocko for me) I see no ads at all.
ABP on Mozilla browsers, uBO on Chromium browsers give me the best results. In reply to an earlier post, my uBO didn't used to update the lists automatically until recently so I used to update it manually about every 2 days.
I don't see any ads either. As far as I can tell, ABP does a hell of a job. I only use Easy list, Easy privacy and YouTube Other Annoyances. If there are any ads that are not covered by this lists, its likely NoScript comes to the rescue. The ones that are not covered by this programs are usually something like a pop up banner. What I done to get rid of a couple of them that really annoy me in sites that I visit regularly is to use another addon called Element Hiding Helper for Adblock plus. With this addon you can create rules. To avoid installing the addon in my host, when I need to create a rule, I install the addon in a sandbox, create the rule, save the ABP backup, delete the sandbox. And afterward, I run Firefox in a sandbox where ABP is allowed to save changes out of the sandbox. Then, I import the ABP backup, and I am ready to go. All done sandboxed and without the need to keep installed an addon that I rarely use but is very beneficial when needed. Works really nice, fast, easy and safe. Bo
