After I run CCleaner, the next time I open Chrome I get the Privacy Badger first run page. This is becoming more annoying than the so called tracking protection provided by this extension. I have CCleaner set to remove everything in Chrome.

Without making changes to CCleaner (why should I?) does anyone have any ideas how to stop this behaviour?

    Thanks.

i find it interesting that people are so concerned about tracking and yet use a browser from a company whose main revenue is from advertising and tracking.

Just a bit of a paradox and seems quite silly.

Yeah well, the Norton toolbar / Identity Safe doesn't work with Firefox any more, so...

simple as that: dont use ccleaner on any browser. always same result: a broken browser.

Yeah, not real keen on joining yet another forum at this time, thanks.
    B.S!!! :argh:

Yeah, in this case it is removing something Privacy Badger puts in Chrome but I'd say that is a fault with the extension, not Chrome, or CCleaner. I have cleaned with CCleaner for years and it has never "broken" any of my browsers.

If you don't like CCleaner don't use it, but millions can't be wrong.

Likewise, used Ccleaner for daily for years and has never broken anything, this includes the registry cleaner.

Krusty - ofc i use ccleaner - bot not regularly, more once in a month randomly - no need for more. at least i use other methods to keep my windows clean. and yes - any browser is capable to do its cleanup itself, no need for 3rd-party crap. and as you said - ccleaner brake your chrome, so why do complain then about my words? i told you what would happen, and it happend. dont ask if you dont want me to :D

btw you ever tried to search and to view the details before deleting? i think you dont know much about ccleaner - too bad.

I'm not interested in debating the pros and cons of CCleaner with you. If you want to do that feel free to start you're own thread.

I have removed Privacy Badger, so no more "broken" Chrome. :p
I don't recall ever asking for your opinion, so feel free to keep that to yourself.

    Thanks.

I've just reinstalled Privacy Badger extension in Chrome and this issue looks to be resolved now. I am no longer seeing the first run page after cleaning with CCleaner.

    Cheers!
