I noticed many here are using Virtualbox, and was wondering if anyone has had trouble with foistware from it? I ask because I found this Zdnet article: http://www.zdnet.com/article/a-clos...nstalls-deceptive-software-with-java-updates/ regarding Oracle bundling PUPs with Java, and curious to know if the same occurs when downloading Virtualbox. I've decided to go with Virtualbox 5.0.16 for Windows, and need to know if I have to use extreme caution (like when downloading stuff from CNET)?
With VirtualBox, not at all. No worries there. With Java, absolutely. VirtualBox is clean and trustworthy.
When it comes to the likes of cnet , my policy is extreme avoidance . Re. Virtualbox - I've used it for years and never seen any sign of bundleware.
Thanks to all for the advice! I am very happy to learn that this essential program is free of malware.
