I need a backup solution for a Server which has special hardware. I don't think that you would call it a Windows Server VM, but I am not sure. It is a single Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit physical server with two Blades which is tolerant to the failure of one blade. I currently do not have a backup solution, but need to get a backup solution in place before I install Windows patches.

I am stuck with Acronis since one of our other locations has a server of the same type and they use Acronis. They use the use Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server 11.5 (for multiple Servers). I only need to backup one (1) Server. It appears to me that the "Essentials" version is not compatible since it seems to only supports Microsoft Small Business Server Operating Systems.

Question: Do I only need the Acronis Backup for Windows Server 11.5 rather than the Advanced version? I would think that the backup reliability would be the same for both.

    Thanks in Advance.

It looks like I will go with Acronis Backup for Windows Server 11.5.
