Does Anyone Have Any Experience With This Programme

I would like to install the 32 bit free version of the above programme under kubuntu.

I have no reason to doubt the software, but I can't find any independent verifications.

To your knowledge is this programme safe?

Exactly, and that is actually a smart and safe way to deal with ourselves. Nobody knows everything, and sometimes we tend to believe things that are wrong, and there's absolutely nothing wrong in asking for more opinions.

I'm on the fence on this one. Where did you get this software? Where is the source code? Have you compiled the source-code to see if the HASHES match the DEB package you have?

Have you tried alternatives? There could be some programs on a distro's repo that could do what this software that you have does.

I obtained the software package (32 bit, free version) from the authors website (https://code-industry.net/free-pdf-editor/). I do not know where the source code is. No, I did not compile the code.

I have the SHA1 hash from the authors website, and will test it I have the hash as a txt file, do I need to change the extension?

There are no alternatives for my purpose under Linux (kubuntu). Let me explain. The program (master-pdf-editor-3.5.81_i386.deb) appears to be the only pdf reader (under Linux) that will read XFA files. This is my reason for downloading it.

I have read a few articles on other websites that discuss master-pdf, and they are positive. So, overall I am optimistic, although I wish it were available in my repository (kubuntu) - but its not.

If there is no source code and you really ran out of alternatives than I'd say you have no choice but to trust the people who made the software. You could, for instance, install Firejail on Debian and run this PDF software with it. Firejail, by deafult, blocks some interesting stuff, like kernel calls, GPG or other important directories, etc. I use Firejail for every program on my Arch/Debian machine.
