Any one had problems with Outlook e-mail challenges lately ? Microsoft account Unusual sign-in activity If this was you, then you can safely ignore this email. Which I did since it was me. Microsoft account Security alert We think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account ******@outlook.com. When this happens, we require you to verify your identity with a security challenge and then change your password the next time you sign in. Which I was forced to do. Now every time I login now I am getting a message: Your security info change is still pending With a next button on the bottom. I can't access account activity for 20 days. I can still login and read the e-mails. I would normally just forget it but I have had this account since (1993) before Microsoft bought Hotmail. I can't remember who all has this address for contact info. Some places require you to get a code at the old e-mail address to to confirm the change to a new e-mail address. I am thinking about not accessing the account until the time is up and look at the activity to see If I had been accessed. Is this the best action? Does anyone know how to get help with Outlook.com mail besides their Online Interface ? Thanks rrrh1(arch1)
It would be helpful if you added your system specs. Outlook.com is changing as we speak. Outlook will be setup primarily for W10 users. If you use Hotmail or WLM accounts changes are already underway and will continue over the next 3 months. You need to be aware of these changes or these accounts will become unusable after the upgrades to Outlook. From your post, I assume you are on W10. Is that correct?
I am now back on Windows 7 had compatibility problems on Windows 10. I have used pop access to outlook in the past and apparently they are phasing that out. Been using Windows XP when I have problems with Windows 7 will probably have a new Linux box soon. rrrhre2s
What kind of changes? I've had a Hotmail account for years and not noticed anything or had any email memos that any changes are coming.
Thanks for the info! I also found http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/outlookcommigrationinfo.htm#pop3 I use Gmail's POP retrieval routine for my Hotmail and the Hotmail changes may affect it. We'll see what happens. Nothing ever stays the same...
