    Hi:

I know some AVS and suites do not fully protect or have some parts that are not yet compatible with win 10. So is there any AVs or suites that all of it is 100% working and compatible with win 10? I mean no security holes remains open in the software.

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. Please list both free and paid AVS and suites.

My wife has been using MBAM Prem. + Windows Firewall ever since she upgraded her laptop (2 months ago) from W8.x to W10 and she tells me that MBAM Prem. is running very well.

Norton Security 22.5.5.15 is compatible and fully functioning on my two Win10 machines, complemented with MBAM Pro and HitmanPro.Alert.

    Your mileage may vary.

Well, you don't really need ONE suite for protection. You could, for example, use a free Firewall, a free HIPS protection, a free Scanner, and etc. In my personal opinion COMODO Internet Security (AV, Firewall, Sandbox, HIPS) + Avira Free + Malwarebytes Premium + UAC = a very, very, very good protection.

... Or you could just use Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.

Well, I never got infected using those. I'm only using Norton now because I've got a license.

I can confirm that all of the following are working find under Windows 10.
    • 360 Total Security/360 Total Security Essential
    • Avast 2016
    • AVG 2016
    • Baidu Antivirus
    • IObit Malware Fighter 4 Beta
    • McAfee Free Antivirus Beta
    • Kaspersky Internet Security 16
    • Tencent PC Manager
    • V3 365 Clinic
Any antivirus which is claimed to be Windows 10 compatible should work fine.

I believe the only compatibility issues are with security software which has not yet been updated to work with Windows 10. In such cases, some software will have problems, and some will work fine.

Windows built in Firewall is fine, Windows Defender is ok too as far as I'm concerned. It is not the best AV but it is certainly adequate. If you get Windows Firewall Control 4, you can set up the Windows firewall pretty nicely without too much trouble. It isn't the firewall as much as the default configuration that is weak. Add Emet and you have a fairly good and light security setup that costs nothing. Windows 10 pro has applocker as well. That is a bit more difficult to configure but it is a nice built in security feature.

My Windows 10 security setup for the systems I'm testing is a LUA with a lot of ACL tweaks, Windows firewall, Applocker, Windows Defender and Emet. That's it, at least for the OS. I also have script blockers, adblockers and hosts files to deal with the browser end of security but that is the same regardless of the OS I'm using the browsers in and not specific to Windows 10.

I've read a few threads over on their forums that seem to imply that there were some people selling invalid/illegal serials [or re-selling the same serial over and over] (even on popular sites like amazon) so maybe if you contact them [Malwarebytes] with the information concerning where/when you purchased it they can help sort things out for you?

Obviously if you purchased it directly from their site this wouldn't be your case but perhaps they could at least tell you why it was blocked and maybe rectify it?

I've only used 360 TSE under Windows 10. I, posted 360 TS as it should work since TSE does. However since it's website states it is Windows 10 compatible, everything should work.

They all worked find for me under Windows 10.

If a security product is claimed to be Windows 10 compatible, it should work fine. There were some major compatibility issues with some security software under Windows 10, before Windows 10 compatible versions were released, which is why people believe there are issues running security software under Windows 10. However these issues were fixed once new versions were released.

As for what is best, that really depends on your needs. From my experience, Tencent PC Manager is very light and very good detection rates, but has some issues with false positives. If you download a lot of software the false positives will be an issue. If you don't then they shouldn't be since no system files or drivers get detected.

IObit Malware Fighter 4, is even lighter still, but it remains to be seen how well it performs in testing. In theory it should do well due to it using Bitdefender's scan engine, but the BD powered Ad-Aware hasn't been doing well in testing lately.

Yep. Emsisoft Internet Security works fine on Windows 10

Was that list updated to take into account Windows 10 Threshold 2?

We tested the security solutions participating in our public main-tests for compatibility with Windows 10. The test checked whether the programs’ essential functions work the same way on Windows 10 as they do on Windows 8.1. For users who plan to install Windows 10 by upgrading an existing Windows 7 or 8.1 system, we recommended uninstalling the existing security program before updating, and then installing the latest version of the program when the upgrade is complete.

The following products have received our Windows 10 compatibility award. The list will be continually updated, with the other products in our public main-test series being approved as soon as each vendor releases a compatible product version.
