IObit have recently released the first beta of IObit Malware Fighter 4. While Malware Fighter has suffered from very poor detection rates, the new version adds Bitdefender's scan engine, which should improve detections rates dramatically. IObit also use the Bitdefender scan engine in Advanced SystemCare Ultimate. With the current version of ASC Ultimate, v8, real time protection is not supported under Windows 10, where it only runs as a companion antivirus. I have used Advanced SystemCare Ultimate in the past (but abandoned it due it not having realtime protection in Windows 10), and it was one of the lightest antiviruses I've used, so hopefully this is very light too. Also, IObit have told me that v9 of ASC Ultimate, with full support for Windows 10 will be released soon.

@sg09 I don't have any information on this, but I presume it won't, if you're using the Bitdefender engine. There is the option when installing it, not to use Bitdefender.
I've switched to Tencent PC Manager now (which is now also using Bitdefender's scan engine), as IMF was adding about 50 seconds to my boot time, and PC Manager only adds a few seconds. I know that startups times don't matter too much, but I uninstalled IMF to compare the difference in startup times with it removed. Interestingly, startup times were slower with it gone, than before I'd installed it.
IMF4 is running very light on my win 10 machine. So far it is doing well. On access scan is a tad slow but not to bad.
@bigc73542 While I didn't test IMF 4 long enough to get much of an idea of its performance, my previous experience with Advanced SystemCare Ultimate - which includes an integrated antivirus using Bitdefender's scan engine, was that is was extremly light.
@bigc73542 It's good to hear it's till working well for you. I'm going to try it again, since Tencent's PC Manager had too many issues with false positives for my liking.
It is working very well for me so far. It seems that it may only get definition updates every 24 hours. A few hours ago I compared the local update.txt with the one at Bitdefender's website, and the definitions were a day old. Also doing a manual update found no never definitions. Just now, I got a popup from IMF saying it has just done an update. I checked the upate.txt file again, and now the defintions were the current ones from Bitdefender,
Do they still steal Malwarebytes definitions? Do they still trick users to install all there other annoying stuff?

No that was a long time ago (6 years). They use their own definitions along with Bitdefender's scan engine. There's no tricking, but some of their software will install other software from IObit when being installed if you don't uncheck it.
Evidence? It's well known that IObit stopped using Malwarbytes's definitions as soon it was discovered they were using them. If you need any more evidence, how about the terrible results IMF has been getting in tests. But, it will do a lot better now it's using Bitdefender's scan engine.
Maybe. Some of the other AVs using the BD engine haven't scored too well in AV-Comp. I sure can't figure out why that is - any idea?
@appster I don't know. It will be interesting to see if IObit participate in testing once this comes out of beta, to see how well it performs.

Thanks appster, now I understand the apparent lack of trust in IObit (as expressed by some here). In any case, I decided to try IObit's MF4-Beta2 (I'm very happy with BDAV-Free but I am concerned that it's no longer being developed). So far I really like MF4 - it installed without any issues and is running smoothly.
