Today I decided to re-install Kaspersky on My 2nd Computer, for which I have a subscription til April 2017.. So with a complete fresh install of Windows 10 Pro x64 I downloaded and installed the latest version of KIS 2015 from their website, installation went well and pretty quick, but after this all Hell Broke Loose! 1: Activation connecting to server.... 20 minutes later still connecting, and Kaspersky has now closed Windows explorer during this process... so I have no desktop! 2: Hard rebooted to get back to desktop, and errors galore about having to re-install several software's 3: Reboot once more to get back to desktop.........No go 4: Restore Image from Acronis backup.... All good! 5: Kaspersky you suck!... will never use you again
KIS2015 version is not the latest version, but 2016 with better support for W10: http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/internet-security
Kaspersky was good only until version 7. Then they really screwed up: themes, stability. The good part is that you don't need Kaspersky. Avira has a better scanner and it's free. COMODO has a better Firewall, has HIPS and Sandbox, and it's free. Then you might consider using MalwarebytesPRO, which isn't expensive. I stopped using Kaspersky when, in 2011, I realized they weren't going to improve their products.
And they are sad you're leaving Kaspersky folks at their forum are always open and eager to solve your issues, if you are really determined to find out what happened. Btw, the latest version is 2016, Windows 10 compatible.
To be fair you are not using the version 2016, Windows 10 compatible. IMO Kaspersky 2016 is great, almost state of the art, so I would give it another chance (but with Win 10 compatibility).

A new Kaspersky 2016 MR1 is being tested (finishing beta testing) and I think it will be even better in W10 and in general
MBAM Premier (as already suggested) is an excellent complement to your computer's security program(s). I've used it for several years myself alongside my antivirus/firewall program. Unfortunately, I've seen some other forum posts where people mistakenly believe it functions as an anti-virus program, which it does not. Happy holidays to all!
Yes it still amazes me when I see some folks still don't understand/know the difference between an 'Anti-Virus' program and an ' Anti- Malware' program. I've used MBam for years along side my chosen Anti-virus on 3 machines (xp SP4, W8.1 64 BIT and W10 64 BIT) and the great folks on the MBam forum there have always explained that their software IS NOT an Anti-Virus. As far as Kaspersky is concerned, I've used KTS on my W10 64BIT Production machine since W10 first came out WITHOUT ANY ISSUES> I have found KTS 2016 to be a highly professional, effective ( always among the TOP of Reviews) and Consistent Internet Security Software with no advertising and Repairs to contend with.
That's because malware is the term for all malicious software and this term does not suggest a companion product with a narrow protection scope. The term anti-virus on the other hand suggests only protection against viruses, thus an extremely narrow protection scope, which is not the case either. The opposite is true. If anything, I completely understand why people don't understand the difference. It's thanks to this misleading terminology. The only ones who got it right are Emsisoft. The 'great folks' should rather explain, why a virus is not malware in their opinion.

mbam has less issues as "premium" (=pro-active) as other software. but its always recommended to install mbam beside another anti-virus as "free", as a second scan/opinion. at least some have windows defender also active, who cares about a "third"?
NAH! Been on computers for over 25 years and that has simply not been my experience! A layered Security profile by it's very nature requires multiple drivers and if developed properly and installed properly causes no conflicts and is not dangerous. MBam for me and all others I've associated/blogged with have had no problems with the software along side numerous different security software INCLUDING Kaspersky.
