    Hi All

Need some guidance please. My setup is Win 7 fully updated, Webroot SecureAnywhere, Sandboxie, Tinywall, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit,BitDefender Free, NoVirus Thanks EXE Radar Pro, On Demand MalwareBytes and Hitman Pro.

Originally I installed WR Identity shield, a free download from a bank. Which worked fined. Then some months ago it was automatically updated to SecureAnywhere. The reason they gave was because Identity Shield does not work with Windows 10. Subsequently I found out that the upgrade is a one year trial and goes into subscription mode thereafter.

I want to replace SecureAnywhere/Identity shield for a freeware application whose principal purpose is that of Identity Shield or protection for online banking.

One option I have considered is Trusteer Rapport but discount because on my machine it slows things down, in addition its EULA concerns me. IBM has the right to extract any or all personal information from my machine.

Could honorable members suggest a freeware replacement for IdentityShield/Secure Anywhere.

    Thanks

    Terry

A lot of AV's nowadays offer online banking protection, they often offer a so called "safe browser", for example Avast does this. You could also check out Zemana Free.

So do you think that all these tools fail to protect you from being infected with financial malware? Then why do you use them?

You never know if you might run a malicious tool that is missed by AV's. Not all malware gets on a system via exploits.

Lol, you have way too many security tools... try to simplify your setup rather than replacing or adding. You will be still perfectly safe with a couple on the list + a good backup and update strategy. Currently you are using a bazooka to kill a mosquito :D

  6. Not a replacement, but you run the free version to check for MITM: SSL-Eye

Trusteer does not work with Sandboxie either whereas Zemana free does..
However, you might want to consider keeping WSA if you are concerned about online banking - it consistently does very well in testing
