I have successfully performed a full backup of my entire machine using Backup and Recovery 15 Home--I'm currently in the evaluation period for the full version. Note that all volumes on my machine are Bitlocker-encrypted.

My next step is to attempt to recover a couple of files from the backup. When I go through the Restore from VD Wizard and tell it to restore the files to the original location, Restore now, then Apply, I receive the following pop-up:

Some files have security attributes that cannot be restored! Please restore entire volume to avoid possible errors.

How do I recover files from my image backup, or how do I perform a backup that I can recover files from? Obviously it's hardly acceptable to restore an entire partition to recover a single file.

I know this is possible, as Acronis (when it was working) was able to recover files to a Bitlocker partition.

I forgot to mention that my machine is Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.

You can use either "file view" to hunt for your files or you can mount the image to just use it like any other drive in your system but that only lasts till a start up or reboot.

    Bill-

Thank you so much. I was able to mount the partition. I'll be purchasing the product.
