The GUI looks nice, and seems like it's using the behavior blocker from Emsisoft?

This thing seems to resurface about once per year. Doesn't it use like 1/2gb of memory? There was some issue with it if I recall.

Anyway, I'll wait and see how this thing behaves.

Huh, now it says 180 days left...

But when I clicked on the activation wizard, it changed to unrestricted full version again. LOL

So after manual update it changes to 180 days trial, then changes back to unrestricted when I click on activation wizard. Weird....

The behavior blocker is also Emsisoft (formerly marketed as Mamutu) as is the Web/URL filtering.

The bdcore engine runs under the Ashampoo AV service; the Emsisoft stuff as itself.

The updates check is hard coded every two hours. If that's too much/little, turn off updates and set a task for AAV_Updater.exe in Task Scheduler with timing as needed.

    Here's the BB options:

Say what you want about Ashampoo, this is a Kick-Arse product.

The download link is giving 404?

Yes, I noticed. Even posted a screenshot. But still confused by this license issue.
True. And it's for version 1.2.0. I think that's why I have issues with license. Installed 1.2.1 instead. Now uninstalled it and found version 1.2.0 here> http://www.storekom.com/download/39397/249

Out of curiosity I downloaded, installed, activated and registered Ashampoo Antivirus.
Than I logged me in my account:

    "Ashampoo® Anti-Virus
    Version 1.2.1, 2015/07/14 XXXXXX-XXXXXX-A71585 | Full Version License | Valid until: 2016/05/18 | (TechLife) "

So this looks like a 6 month licence, not lifetime...
I guess it's valid until next upgrade (TechLife)

I thought it was an unlimited license as well. However once it expires I'm sure you'll be able to get another giveaway license, Ashampoo reguarly giveaway software.

I just logged into my Ashampoo account to see if it showed an expiry date for the antivirus (since I got the free license but have not installed it), and I have about 30 full version licenses, the vast majority of which I did not pay for.

    Same as yours...
It changed from unrestricted to 180 days and than back to unrestricted....

To my understanding "unrestricted" does mean full functional, but not lifetime.

I checked my account & its showing Version 1.2.1, 2015/07/14 XXXXXX-XXXXXX-9C3807 | Full Version License | (TechLife). There is no valid until.
I had installed Ashampoo & activated & later uninstalled it.

What I got from support on the license confusion:

So not really unlimited, regardless of what the offer says.

Mods, please help me with the title changing!

@Tarantula Thanks for the clarification. It did appear to be a lifetime license, which seemed to be too good to be true.
