As much as I've liked the betas of Avast 2016, I have uninstalled it, due to it not having the option to ignored detected files. I really like how in 360 TSE, and some other antiviruses, how when a portectional threat is detected there is the option to whitelist so it does not get detected again.

Such a feature would be nice in Avast, but seemingly will never be added. I find it quite strange how insistant that user at Avast's forum are that is a bad idea. It was suggested that the feature could be misued by inexperienced users, and they could mistakenly trust something malicious. I suggested that the ignore feature be an optional one, that would need to manually enabled from the settings. But, apparently it would still be a dangerous feature to have, even though I highly doubt inexperienced users would actually go into the settings and enable it.

    That was a good suggestion.

I uninstalled it because it kept crashing/repairing itself continuously (beta4, not RC1). I can't say I liked the cumbersome way to deal with false-positives either.

The text "Bug fixes" defeats the purpose of patch notes; I don't know if the issue keeping me from using it has been fixed. Qihoo is really bad about that.

+1 from a former avast user. Not being able to ignore a detected file is a big mistake especially if it happens to be a false postive system file. How in God's name would an inexperienced user be able to find the option to ignore a detection if buried deep in settings? I switched to 360TSE and Bitdefender.

The bigger issue is that, as a consultant, I can't recommend avast! because I will inevitably hear, "That software you installed took my files!" and it's my fault.

I think it is smart to move to a new fresh "avast! 2016" thread to keep final version things separate from the beta stuff.
