http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/lazesoft-recovery-suite-pro/ I had an old free version: this, PRO, has many useful features.
Indeed an excellent application. Noticed it have the tool "Lazesoft BCD Doctor" that can replace the excellent 'EasyBCD' tool. Thanks blacknight for your post and suggestion.
The File Recovery programs I have seen all say do not install on same drive that you wish to recover files from. What is different with this program that allows you to install to the same drive or did I miss something. As always I will appreciate all replies and would thank you in advance. John

Kind regards,
You should never install this, or any other recovery software on a drive which has lost data you want to recover, as installing it may overwrite some of the lost data. In such cases, you should download portable recovery software onto a flash drive using another computer, and then run it from the flash drive.
Nothing is different with this. When a file is deleted, the part corresponding on the hard drive is marked for deletion, when space is needed for another file it is actually deleted. So installing anything on the hard drive increases the risk of recovery failure. Either you install this and let it be until you need recovery, install this on another hard drive after you need recovery, or build a boot disk to use when needed from a safe drive.
