My Emsisoft subscription is ending soon. Panda Free seems to do a good job blocking and finding stuff, but on this forum people have indicated it has "issues" as in you need something else until Panda resolves its "issues" of late.

    What problems has it had?

The latest version has problems restoring files from quarantine. It says files are restored, but when you check the location on disk, no files are restored. It does add them to exclusion though. Still, it's a pretty huge bug in my bok and they don't seem to care about it considering how long it exists with version 2016...

I used it for several months in Windows 7 and 8.1/10. Uninstalled it because if slowed many things. I think this was happening because Panda is a cloud-based program which requires a fast and steady internet connection to work properly. My connection has ups and downs.

One particular problem was this: I use Interned Download Manager (have used it for years without problems). IDM segments the download, so that each segment is downloaded separately and when the process finishes, all are combined. Panda was preventing the several segments from combining, because it locked for too much time the files, presumably until it checked them for malware. IDM then canceled the process and reported an error. To solve this, I had to disable Panda temporarily and repeat the download. Too much inconvenience.

Thanks, I found discussions about that after I made this thread. That seems like a big concern.

Just that. Otherwise it's realyl good app. Maybe they should integrate the damn URL blockin g into the app and get rid of the stupid toolbar component, but I can live with that. Can't with broken file restoring though.

I used Panda for quite a while but when the 2016 version was released odd things started to happen. The quarantining bug is strange. I had a false positive when I tried to run an app (FotoSketcher) and Panda quarantined what it thought was malware. What worried me was that I couldn't find what it had removed to quarantine so I couldn't exclude it or restore it. Avast! later did the same thing with FotoSketcher but the quarantined file could be found (Virus Chest). Avast! also fixed this false positive incredibly quickly when I submitted a ticket.

Panda is a superb AV, but this quarantining bug is more serious than they are admitting, I won't go back to Panda until they fix this.

In general no issues whenever I try it. For me Panda AV free is the best candidate to switch to it.

Also had these problems with windows fail to boot (black or a blue screen), when i'm using another AV these issues are gone ..... so Panda is a bad boy on my machine, thats why i'm no longer using this!
