Since we are talking about Marshmallow here I am assuming that Kingo Root is ok. I have rooted my phone with Kingo Root in an attempt to remove AT&T rubbish, but it seems that I can still only disable it not remove it. Do I need to set any special permissions to carry this out?
I haven´t used Kingo Root, but when I have used iRoot, you have to uninstall from SuperSU or a similar app. Are you doing so?
Why not get Titanium Backup Pro license and freeze everything you dont need? TIB is a great application and is definitely worth the $6.
Thanks. I did know about Titanium but not how powerful it is. I bought the Pro version - seems worthwhile. I suppose from briefly playing with it that after backing up it is best to freeze apps you want to remove to see if they have any effect on the system. Not sure yet how much the AT&T bloat is interconnected with the system.
Yes, it is better to freeze then uninstall. I always freeze and just leave it as is. You should notice a significant amount of RAM that is freed up before and after using it.
@djg05 There is no need to uninstall SuperSU. If there apps you know you'll never use then it's probably best to uninstall rather than freeze them, as there is no point in keeping them.
@Robin A. They both accomplish the same thing, however some apps can't be disabled and to need to be frozen, as explained here.
True, there are a lot of apps that doesn't give you the option to disable, only stop, then it restarts itself.
Thanks for all the replies. Roger - from what I have read about AT&T some of their apps are tied in with the system so thought it best to freeze them to see if it has any negative effect.
@djg05 I doubt that is the case, but I guess anythings possible. If you can post the app names, I'll see what I can find.
