In my experience, Internet Explorer 11 is really very fast to launch when I compare it with other browsers. The browsing speed is also good. I didn't use it in Windows 7 all these days, but after upgrading to Windows 10, I started using and loving it. However, the problem remains that it is very allergic to add-ons. This is why I am not able to use lastpass in IE. Although the loading time of lastpass add-on is barely noticeable, frequent lag is annoying. Thankfully, WSA plugin works well. Could this be due to ignorance of add-on developers towards IE11?

Anyone using Internet Explorer 11, regularly?

I use it from time to time, as a secondary browser. For example if I'm doing a cleanup on someone's computer it is my browser of choice as when I download software I have the option to run it, which means that the installer only gets saved to a temporary folder. I find this really useful if I want to install software but don't want to save the installer. On Windows 10 computers I use it instead of Edge, because Edge has no run option.

I can't really comment on plugins as I prefer to use none if possible.

As an everyday browser I don't use IE or any other major browser due to them not being able to work how I want without having to install plugins. But apart from the limited configuration options I do like IE.

Are you kidding me? IE is pure crap. Yes, it isn't even that bad when it comes to speed, but the lack of extensions is a huge problem.

I wondered what the heck happened to IE. I never use it but I needed a browser to support Java since Chrome doesn't anymore--Dear Google, The purpose of a browser is to display content, not to refuse to display content on the off-chance that something bad may happen.

I tried IE11 but, yes, it took forever but eventually loaded and displayed what it was supposed to after minutes for one page. I think IE (2?) on 14.4K dial-up in Iceland in 1994 was faster. I just assumed it was messed up in Win10 and not getting any attention because of Edge (yaaaay now two browsers pre-installed with no purpose!) IE also wouldn't let me resize a window that every other browser would.

Firefox was klunky and slow but not like IE. I wonder what happened there too.

IE in Tab (Chrome addon) worked pretty well...gets Java on Chrome.

Opera (32 and 33 beta) have been working faster than all of these.

I also use IE11, from time to time, as a secondary browser. ;)

I think Microsoft is going to bury it, because they haven't even released a new version with Windows 10, which they always did with earlier versions of Windows. They even kept it hidden from taskbar, start screen pins. They are promoting the Edge, but I so much dislike it. :( Because of M$'s ignorance towards IE most plugin writers lost interest in fixing bugs in it, except the antivirus/security tools programmers (thankfully).

A particular window or all IE window? I can resize most.

A new window opened on a click that uses Java and Flash (SkillSoft). Chrome renered it the best since I could resize it and zoom until they saw fit to protect me from the big bad Internet Of Thugs and dropped Java support. IE used a fixed window. I agree that it's pretty much abandonware (and that Edge is trash until they actually make a finished product anyway) but we're kinda stuck with IE since it's integrated and API is used by 3rd party apps. IE-in-Tab (Chrome extension) would resize.

Opera Beta and Developer Editions (Chrome 46) still support Java/NPAPI (hopefully Opera won't drop it ever) and nobody's broken into my Internet of Tubes and nothing has crashed.

I just read that about 70% of all people use Chrome on Win 10, probably because Edge sucks. Just how dumb can M$ be? I wonder why they didn't spend more time into developing Edge. At the moment Google seems to be winning the "browser war". This is something what I also don't understand, because Chrome sucks, at least when it comes to my standards.

While I do prefer Chrome, I'm forced to use IE 11 on my tablet due to some weird 100% CPU bug: services.exe, svchost.exe, chrome.exe, etc. won't terminate unless you shutdown and lags it so much that I can barely input anything. Then when left too long, Bluetooth service BSOD's on me of all things. Only occurs when running Chrome after recent updates.

Anyhow, IE 11 is OK with TPL, bookmarklets, etc. But the lack of add-ons is definitely a minus so I won't be using it on main laptop. Not that much better than Chrome mobile for me, so good enough for a tablet I guess.

Got Adblock Plus enabled in the status bar, and LastPass + vtExplorer in command bar now.

I think it is just a Microsoft policy from way back. IE has almost always (minus a few exceptions over the years) not been keen to add-ons. Same with Windows phone by Microsoft. They have nearly killed their own phone by having such a sparse app store. There are probably other MS examples as well. So, in all, I think it's just a Microsoft thing.

I use EasyList Standard and EasyPrivacy from the Tracking Protection Lists. Does lastpass works in your case without lag in web-browsing?

Although I used a different list, pop-ups still seemed to pass through. LastPass works fine, except clicking the command bar button does nothing.
