    Hello All,

For the past 15 years I have gotten by with a modicum of security software and never had an issue or infection. I think eventually my luck will run out. Currently I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and primarily Firefox as a browser. The rest of my software is pretty much the standard gamut of business software including Office 2010 and Acrobat XI pro. The only security software I'm currently using is WSA and Malwarebytes Free. I've been reading everything I could digest on this site. Now I'm in information overload.
    I'm thinking of adding:
Heimdal Pro, MBAE or HMP or Appguard, and Quietzone.

Now's when I need the guidance of the experts here. I want enough security but not so much where I encounter tools that don't play nice together. Please advise me if I'm on the right track or need to rethink the apps I purchase. Many thanks in advance!

If you've done okay so far, I would consider either adding either Appguard or Sandboxie, and stop there.

I tend to agree with Pete.

Some of us are a little more paranoid and install extra programs but if I'm honest I could probably get by safely without them all except perhaps an AV In my case, Norton.

I don't think that your luck will run out. If you practice safe computing and don't install software from untrusted sources, you have good chances to never get infected.
You can add additional security layer as Pete suggested if you want.
I would also suggest to backup your system and personal files and to update your system and applications regularly.

I'm just going to agree with what's been said above. With safe computing and regular back-ups you won't need a lot of extras. To WSA and MBAM you could add HMP and Sandboxie. AppGuard and HMP.A are also well worth trying. (By the way, purchasing HMP gives you a key that will also activate HMP.A)

+1 with backups. Image backups are probably the best defence against malware available. If any of the 'tools' I have installed alert me to an infection it is a restore from a backup for me. I couldn't be bothered trying to disinfect my machines.

I've added Heimdal Pro which I found for 70% off and Secunia. I'd like to choose one of the following: HMP/HMPA or appguard or MBAE. Which is the best option and least likely to conflict with what I have. I want to protect the vulnerabilities of Acrobat Pro XI, Office 2010 Pro Plus, and etc.

If you want to protect purely against exploits, choose HMPA or MBAE. If you want a relative easy to use anti-executable, choose AppGuard.

I will not answer the question whether you should take HMPA or MBAE. I like to keep myself distant from making recommendations for one specific program.

USA still the best. But barely.
These two don't impact my system are Free or Free version & are regarded well. MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit Free & BitDefender Anti-Ransomware. So I might try them if I were OP.

I just added MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit Premium already running MBAM free. Will see how these do for the time being and add more if necessary. Kinda of interested in Quietzone and/or Sandboxie at some point in the future.
    Thanks for everyone's help!!!

I would say, add a specialized tool like MBAE, because Webroot already takes care of most stuff.

EDIT: I just saw that you already did, good choice.

I would rather add a pure anti-exe like EXE Radar Pro. It's a lot simpler to operate.

What do you mean with that, aren't you happy with MBAE or AppGuard? And BTW, EXE Radar is currently freeware.

Personally, I have been apart of the security world since dirt was made. Over the years I have tried every software made and my conclusion is that I won't recommend any hard to use software by normal family users. I won't hold it against the Geeks that roam here that now more than the normal family user. We all know any software company that wants to make a profit will have to keep this in mind. Easier is always better. You can't get much easier then Quietzone. True if you have no other security software installed , with Quietzone you can become infected during your current session but all gone after reboot.
Since I use Yify and Yify TV , I find Malwarebytes extremely useful. And so my setup now seems to be just fine. Norton security with backup 2015, Malwarebytes Pre. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, Quietzone, AdGuard, Web Companion. All paid except Web Companion.
I would still like to know why not many users here use Quietzone but were on the Returnil band wagon a few years ago?

Wait, I think I know, It is because all users here are Geeks and not normal home users, right?

Opps edit: My Norton was a free one year Lic.

I think you misinterpreted me, I am an IT professional but my forte isn't security it's infrastructure in the world of healthcare. I also thought Exe Radar Pro was commercial. While free is very nice I don't mind paying for quality. I also feel that simplicity coupled with that quality is the mindset software developers should embrace.

Was going by the info on their website which currently has it as commercial software. Hopefully they will
    update site to reflect this.

I'm adding Sandboxie as recommended, thanks to all it's a great app. I also already have Macrium Home v6 which I'm fanatical about using.
