Hi i have installed w10 and honestly sometimes i regret w8.1 what's about you? do you like more windows 10 or windows 8/8.1 ? thanks
Never had 8/8.1 for daily use, but the early versions were horrible. I remember how hard it was to even shutdown the system! Otherwise, I like the resizable start menu and apps, increased security, etc. Windows 10 brings over 8.1. So my vote goes to 10. BTW, what do you mean you regret 8.1? You regret updating it to Windows 10?
Coming from XP, W7 now W10. I prefer windows 10 to 8/8.1. I ran 8/8.1 it very briefly. The most illogical OS I have ever used. Still windows 10 still needs some more continuity and polish but it is definitely one the right track. The first round of feature updates are due in September/October if I recall correctly. Hopefully it will fix these little issues with this operating system.
I moved up to Windows 10 and I like it a lot better than 8.1. Everything and Windows 10 seems more responsive.
I like Windows 10 much more than Windows 8/8.1 because it brings back the start menu and runs really well. I also prefer it to Windows 7 becuase I have grown to really like the changed start menu. I think it makes sense for all Windows 8/8.1 users to upgrade. If you are Windows 7 user, in my opinion is worth at least trying Windows 10. Windows 10 should run fine even on older Windows 7 computers.
8.1 all the way, 10 is full of bugs, even childish ones and MS even forces problematic upgrades. MS plans to release SP1 next week, guess the "myth" about Windows being usable after SP1 still applies, though it is not really SP1 like 8.1 was, so we might have to wait a little longer to get a real one.

I haven't actually tried Win 10 yet, but from what I've been reading it's not really a big improvement over Win 8. I'm seriously thinking about staying with Win 8.
I never really liked Windows 8.1, I like Windows 10 better even with all the bugs which will be Ironed out eventually..
I like them all. As a matter of fact I can't see any humongous change among these OSs. What I have experienced trying to to upgrade to Win 8.1 was an absolute nightmare to the point that a month ago I had to take my main machine to Samsung service (sigh, I thought I could trouble-shoot any problem with my computers) as it refused to restore back-up images. The Samsung engineer I spoke to, said the upgrade to Win 8.1, inexplicably, changed the partition table making a restore impossible. I also had drivers problems, a real mess. I would love to upgrade to Windows 10 if someone could guarantee a flawless operation. From my experience I believe in a rule of thumb, namely (especially with laptops) the OS supplied with a new machine should not be changed, as it has been tuned to work with a particular hardware configuration. Windows 10 will be with my next new computer...
neither. im currently using Win7 and its nice but i think i would rather still be on WinXP if i could. prob moving over to linux anyway to get away from the snooping cr@p going on in windows now.
10 is fine and I have been using it since it was released to us gurus last fall but I'm not sure I want to switch all of my computers over to it. I'm glad I have a year to decide. I am perfectly happy with Windows 7.
My experience has been very different to yours. I've installed Windows 10 on seven laptops so far, some of which originally came installed with XP (with the oldest laptop being 9 years old), and it is working fine on all of them, and there are drivers installed for all of the devices. The 9 year old laptop had serious audio latency issues, whcih disapeared when I changed the video driver. Prior to the release of Windows 10, I had been using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on my laptops, all of which came installed with a previous OS, again with no issues. As soon as Vista was released, I upgraded my XP laptop to Vista and it actually ran flawlessly, even though many people who bought laptops that came preinstalled with Vista had issues. In the next few weeks, I'll install XP on another old laptop I have. There are only two cases that come to mind where I've had issues from updating to a more recent OS. A really old HP laptop started making notification sounds every few seconds when I replaced XP with Windows 8 (I have no idea why), and a Samsung laptop that I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 had touchpad issues which I was unable to fix. I sold the Samsung laptop before Windows 10 was released, so I don't know if the touchpad issue would have been fixed in Windows 10. I personally, would never buy a new laptop to get a new OS. These days, I only ever buy cheap used laptops, and I don't see the point in buying a new one, as I don't need high end CPU or video performance.
I like 10 better than 8/8.1 I guess... better integration of everything. 8.1 was pretty solid though too...
No, I've never said I'd buy a new laptop in order to get a new OS... What I meant is there is no rush to upgrade to the latest OS if the current is working well. As you mentioned you had problems with a Samsung machine, and it is well known by now that Samsung machines have all suffered (it is actually an understatement) by upgrading to Win 8.1. There is a real fight (I don't know whether courts are involved) between Samsung and MS accusing each other for the current situation. I like a lot my machine (high end laptop) beautiful materials, long battery operation, super bright screen, at Samsung they are really good for hardware and quality, but honestly after this huge software debacle I'm certainly not going to buy another Samsung. MS is also responsible, but Samsung was too slow to respond to the Windows 8.1 upgrade problems, in some instances even blocking MS updates to avoid possible issues... I installed Windows 10 (the beta version) twice on an old Asus machine (7 years old, core duo) which normally runs very well on with its native Vista Ultimate. Everything was fine, slightly faster than Vista. Except for one problem, the CPU was working harder even with the machine idle, and its cooling fan was running as if it was overheating. At the moment Win 8 is absolutely flawless and can't see any reason to upgrade to Win 10, even as free service...
I've noticed a massive difference between the final release of Windows 10 and test builds. With test builds at times tiworker.exe was continually using 25% CPU time, which was noticably slowing down my laptop. I fixed the issue by disabling the service completely with regedit, which also stopped the start menu from working. But, with the final build I have had no such issues. Also, I had audio latency issues with the test versions which I don't have on the final release.
I think Windows 10 is ok for free but I don't need the new features: I don't like combined tiles/standard menu, I don't like the "keylogger", I don't use Microsoft Edge ... Yeah, UI is nice somehow.
