Some websites when you try to close or leave their site 1. Put up a dialog and disable navigation or closing the browser. Basically says are you sure you want to leave this site (yes) read more (no)... 2. The dialog keeps you on their site no matter witch button you click. 3. Back to step one. I have been using Process Explorer to kill the thread in Opera and Chrome. In Opera 12 there was a option to disable this nuance is there one in Opera 31 or Chrome ? Thanks rrrh1 (Arch1)
@rrrh1 I have had to use Adguard to take care of that for me to prevent it in the first place. But I would assume that the free extensions of uBlock Origin and Ad Block Plus should also prevent these types of dialogs from taking over.
I hate that also; most sites that use it abuse it (no form entries or progress to lose). Does AdGuard block that by default? (need a test site that does that)
Just ran into another site doing this and tried an experiment with ad block plus. With ad block plus enabled the ads blocked keep counting up until there is a memory error in Opera 31. Then Opera terminates the page... It is some kind of site redirection to a video and report they want to sell you about a ISIS attack. It's random on some of the news sites this morning. rrrh1 (arch1)
