For a brand new browser, I think it's pretty good.

But, as the article points out, it's not as feature complete (For now).

    Give it time...

"Microsoft is employing a bunch of tricks to make this happen, including pre-fetching websites before you get to them,"
Can already do it with Firefox. It's considered a risk....

Yes and Chrome also. I consider it as possible risk also, that's why I disable that option.

Once it picks up plugin support and I can use LastPass and some kind of ad blocker, it will probably be my primary browser.

It seems fast, fast as Opera beta (chrome based) that I use. But it wont be of use for me until it gets support for extensions. And hopefully many of them. Nowadays I find browser that cant be controlled with mouse gestures tedious.

@xxJackxx Adguard works on Edge fyi. Not the extension but the program.

Its strange isnt it..how these browsers are touting prefetch as some new kid on the block. The little 600kb program Naviscope allowed browsers to prefetch over 14 years ago

It seems Kaspersky Anti-Banner works also. Not entirely as well as something like Adblock Plus, but mostly good enough.

    Right on.
MS have immediately thrown tacks under their own tyres and destroyed credibility of the thing (if it had any anyway), as is their way. That's it, Ellison. recycled ideas made to look like a modern innovation is a Windows ideal.
The article basically states the end justifies the means here, and since the end is purely to be the fastest, all other considerations are secondary, or likely even lower down the list than that.

The whole touch screen thing is rooted in the past. The flat and dull appearance just helps to reinforce the idea that the thing is actually an old idea that has no real place on a desktop. It should help to speed it up *shakes head in despair*... Though the flat Android OS is an example of failure in that department. Slower than before.

It doesn't support HPKP(HTTP Public Key Pinning) :( Missed chance for MS.

Who knows what they'll add later. It's still not feature complete.

When it has AdBlock and LastPass, I'll give it more than a cursory look. My only complaint with it so far is that it seems to load pages in stages or something, causing a stutter when scrolling.

Well, I decided to give Edge a try tonight and... it won't work for me. The application starts, but it won't load any sites. (Chrome works fine.)

I must have done something to disable it, but I don't know what. I removed IE11 in the add/remove Windows Components interface, but I doubt that would block Edge.

Sounds good. Time will tell; especially running under an OS with the most vulnerabilities.
