i've read that post as well, but thought i'd try it on IE10 anyway - haven't noticed any issues yet. there are problems with IE11 on many Win7 PCs & unfortunately mine is one of them - barely works at all.
My testing of mypoq a while back showed it had a major issue with EMET. Along the lines of interfering with its protections. From that I will infer there might be issues with all anti-exploit software. I e-mailed Quarri about the issue and they verified there indeed was a problem. They told me I would receive an e-mail from them when the problem was fixed. Six months went by and I finally received an e-mail stating the problem was fixed. By that time, I had moved on and never reinstalled the product. My advice is anyone using the product is to verify all their security software works proper; that includes that it still detects test exploit/malware samples.
Glad this was posted in another thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/trusteer-rapport-eula-update-data-collection.371251/ since I have been long aware of it. Also be aware that a legal tactic banks often use against consumers when bank fraud occurs is that the customer used his PC for financial activity when he knew it was infected. TR is constantly monitoring your PC for malware activity and reporting same to the bank's server. A little common sense here goes a long way. If your bank wants you to install TR, it is for the bank's benefit.
Thanks, looks like a nice report, but I didn't like the last pages, why test Trusteer (and Webroot) against stuff that it doesn't protect against? But it sure is interesting to see some new bypassing techniques being used. I think even a lot of HIPS will fail some of these tests, so I have to give credit to MRG for coming up with these new ideas.
I haven't been following this software for a while and they don't publish changelogs as far as I know. I have seen that they have a new website https://www.trusteer.com/ProtectYourMoney So any news, what has changed? its worth using instead WSA?
You might want to read these two articles and make your decision accordingly: http://www.advantage77.com/2014/09/03/rapport-more-problems-than-its-worth/ http://searchenterprisedesktop.tech...nts-online-bank-fraud-blocks-phishing-attacks
The second link is broken but I read the first one, I think I had enough so I wont try again TR Thanks
Here's the correct link: http://searchenterprisedesktop.tech...nts-online-bank-fraud-blocks-phishing-attacks Basically a positive review but with the following caveat: The downside to using Rapport is that it locks user’s desktops down quite thoroughly when a protected browser is up and running. That’s probably why Trusteer’s support organization recommends that IT set up separate accounts for employees to use specifically for online banking. Interesting how bank web sites that offer Trusteer never mention this ..............................
