Hi Does it have a boot manager for installation or do one have to go through the cd/dvd rescue media all the time ?
Yes and no. You can add Rapid Restore to the windows pre-os boot menu, or.. you can add the recovery media iso file also on your boot-menu,having the iso on your hard-drive, if you don't want to have the media on cd/usb stick.. (Google for a freeware program called EasyBCD, which does it easily..) It's also good to read the programs FAQ and User Guide, there is all the answers you are looking for.
I tested the trial version for a day, it does work, but it is no match for Macrium 6. Features are quite similar to Macrium, and at first glance the user interface looks easier than Macrium. But when actually using the software it is not that easy any more. For example I did not find a way to make an incremental backup manually. The only way to do this is through the scheduler. Creating a full image is way slower than Macrium or Acronis (compression medium as per default). The rapid restore option worked well on my tests. Cheers manolito
