I copy files from PC to Google Drive.
Then from Google Drive to Samsung.

Or use an OTG cable and USB stick.

I have been using air droid for quite a while. I think you tried installing the windows client ? You can use the android app and any web browser from your PC to achieve the same result.

1.Install airdroid app to your phone from playstore.
2.Connect both your phone and computer to same source of internet. (i.e. Your landline)
3.Open the phone app and press start.
4.The app will show you an ip adress i.e. 99.999.99.999:9999
5.Open any browser in your computer and go to the address above.
6.Your phone will show a popup requesting permission, allow it.
    7.You should be connected.

You can use the app with dissimilar connections (i.e. your phone on mobile 3g, computer on landline), however you need to register for a username in that case.

When it comes to me I've been using Total Commander for Android + LAN plugin. Easy to configure and easy to use. Works like a charm :)

I have used WeLine once and it worked very well. I prefer to transfer files over USB, but in this that case the phone had a broken Mirco USB port so I was unable to do so.

1-Are both your phone and computer are on the same internet connection ? They need to be.
2-Are you using any kind of firewall or vpn on your phone or your computer ? If that's the case, try turning it/them off.

I'm affraid there's no tutorial for that but I do believe you can do it by yourself.
You don't even need to have Total Commander installed on your PC at all :)

My guess is something is interfering with address routing but I'm stomped in this case.

If you can't use your USB cable, I'd think the simplest solution is to take out your microSD out of the phone. Put it in a SD card reader. Plug it into your computer. Copy the files to the card. Safe-Remove from the computer, plug it back into the phone. Give it few minutes and your new files should now be visible.
