The warning re RBX are about to go critical. Windows 10. You can't turn of Windows updates. On basic nothing, and Pro you can only defer the reboot. Oh Joy.

You cannot turn off updates? Did I read that right? How about for systems that don't have an internet connection?

Only users of Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise will have the option to turn off automatic updates or to delay them. Users of Win 10 Home will be the guinea pigs (until someone finds out how to alter this behavior). What can you expect from a "free" operating system?

RollBack Rx for Windows 10 and Windows 10 itself are both ongoing projects, so I wouldn't make assumptions on these things until we have a ready to release version for both.

Also, should go without saying, but we don't recommend installing RollBack Rx V10.3 or under on a Windows 10 build.

Can you point to some place that says that. What I saw in the feature comparison, said Pro users could defer the reboot.

    Y

Yes, but from actual experience and looking over the settings, defer means the updates, download, then windows goes thru some preparation operation which takes some time and finally does the install on reboot. It's the reboot you can "delay" But what happened to me was BSOD's during the download and preparing phase. Far different then turning off updates in Win 7.

    Weekly bump.

Still no word from HDS or Kurtis on these issues,,,,2 months and counting since Froggie provided this list of Rx issues.

For those new to this thread these issues could lead Rx users to have significant problems if the potential problems are not prepared for. If you are not aware of the issues and either use Rx or are considering doing so then you would be well advised to take a careful look at Froggies excellent documentation of the issues.

I understand Peter but that is exactly what HDS wants, that way the issues, and the previous discussion regarding them, will be lost in the depths of the archives.

Do you see any way to resolve this problem?

Lead post document has been updated to reflect Rollback RX Windows 10 compatibility as of 09October2015. Also, section on WINDOWS UPDATES has been changed to reflect the user's inability to use a supported method from Microsoft to defer or inactivate Windows updates in the Windows 10 HOME edition.

With the amount of changes Win10 goes through, it'll need to be updated every week.

Thanks Froggie, and thanks to Wilders for making it a Sticky...

It could use one more update:
Maybe a small hint could be added how a Win8.1 or Win10 installation can be protected against Windows update disasters if a user can live without UEFI / GPT and without BitLocker.

    Cheers

I use Win 10 home..You can actually stop update downloads by setting "metered connection" on.

No product would be worth doing that, period. Rollback needs to adapt or be gone.

I'm new to the IRS scene, sorry if my questions are stupid....

I have RollBackRX. I Have not installed it yet.

I also have done a clean install of Windows 10.

I have Macrium which I use to do Backups (Images) of my C: drive.

I am considering installing RBRX on my PC.

My C: and all installations are on a WD Black 500gig HD...

I downloaded your guide, have not read it yet, but will do so soon.

Any recommendations, and what about Comodo time machine, it runs on some but no others machine, but IF it will run on my PC, is it better than RollBack?

And how about this Eaz-Fix Professional it is still for sale and in production, it says it works for Win 10. See here: http://www.eazsolution.com/en/faq.php...

How does it rate against CTM and RBRX?

    Thanks

why use a copycat when you have the original ;)

Forget about Comodo TM, it is underdevelopped and bugged as hell , not even sure it works on Win10.

    Rather use RX.

:D No Rollback RX questions are stupid... they come from users who are concerned about their system configurations.

I've answered your questions above in a more appropriate THREAD that is followed more closely by RBrx users... a place where much knowledge concerning this application tends to congregate. Hope it helps!
