The last time I tested it was a year ago, but I liked it, overall.

Please let us know if you went with another firewall and elaborate why. There's at least a handful of really decent firewalls to choose from and maybe a freebie or two that could perhaps rival the firewall in question. My attraction to the Spyshelter firewall first an foremost is that it's a dedicated specialty item; exactly the same way that Sandboxie is to sandboxes. Sure there's an increasing number of "suites" out there that offer sandboxing and firewalls. But when the grit hits the fan.. go with the vendors that focus exclusively on what they do the best.

First of all - its main goal is to protect against wide range of loggers, so firewall module is not so complicated as in others competitors although is effective. And this could be all cons for me :)
    Pros...
    - strong and effective anty-logger security because of its sensitive detection and connected with that possible protection's levels what depends on users preferences
    - nice and effective HIPS module
    - restricted apps feature and possibility to restrict some disk areas (disks, folders)
    - encryption feature that is very configurable (inclusion and exceptions)
    - many settings and options that can be set by user so SS can be used by almost all user - not only advanced
    - clear and readable GUI

SS FW is for me unique "non AV-engine" security suite and worth to spend money

It's a powerful "old skool" HIPS with a lot of behavioral filters, so that's a pro. A big "con" is the user interface, it looks good but is not handy and logical. Especially the "events logging" and "rules manager" part. Another weird thing is that you can not enable/disable "network hooks" per application.
