I use it very occasionally when I am troubleshooting issues on my systems, which are often not malware related.

I was wondering if the Trend Micro offering is the same as the one that's available to download at Emsisoft.

When I wrote post #8, the Emsisoft HiJackFree was there.
    Now the link:
    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/hijackfree/
    redirects to =
    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/eek/

You can find/download the Emsisoft HiJackFree from MajorGeeks:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/emsisoft_hijackfree.html
    or from Softpedia:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/a-squared-HiJackFree.shtml

thanks for finding. seems like a dead project as its not on the authors website and the links on 3rd party websites contain versions that have not been updated in a few years

I still have an old, old version (v1.99.1) of HijackThis... I think I downloaded it in 2005 before it was sold to TrendMicro. Barely useful anymore, really.
