Thanks Chazzy. That changelog site says it is version 1.2.049 But I don't understand why my NOD32 is telling it is: ESET SysInspector module: 1245 (20141028) Here is my full info from the about tab: Virus signature database: 11348 (20150319) Rapid Response module: 5706 (20150319) Update module: 1056 (20150113) Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1451 (20150224) Advanced heuristics module: 1154 (20150129) Archive support module: 1222 (20150310) Cleaner module: 1105 (20150120) Anti-Stealth support module: 1070 (20150209) ESET SysInspector module: 1245 (20141028) Real-time file system protection module: 1009 (20130301) Translation support module: 1273 (20141008) HIPS support module: 1166 (20150310) Internet protection module: 1173B.2 (20150312) Database module: 1064 (20150303) I don't use pre-release updates. Maybe that could explain the difference. PS-1: May I please ask the mods to move this thread to the anti-virus forum section for better exposure? PS-2: I am putting this whole post between PLAIN tags to avoid possible smilies.
You're welcome, Jan. There's no indication it is 'pre-release'. (note - the standalone file digital sig is Feb 5, 2015)
It's for system inspection as it's name implies. It will generate quite a comprehensive list of what's present and running, you will need to analyze manually and take action using other tools/windows if there's something that requires fixing.
....yep, and ESET Customer Care may also request users that contact them to provide them with a log created by ESET SysInspector for analysis.
Thanks again Chazzy. === Some things are really puzzling me: 1. As shown in your screenshot, the version number of the "stand-alone" SysInspector is 1.2.049 . 2. As shown in your screenshot, the version number of the SysInspector module in the "stand-alone" SysInspector is 1246 ( 20150121 ) . 3. The version number in my (paid-for) NOD32 of the SysInspector module is 1245 ( 20141028 ) . Oh well, the world is full of mysteries. Who would be so kind to explain this to me?
Hello, The standalone version of ESET SysInspector and the module used by ESET's other programs have different version numbers. The standalone version is updated less frequently than the module. The different in versions on the module may be for various reasons (base version of the ESET program installed, whether or not prerelease updates are enabled, etc.). Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
Hi Aryeh, Thank you for coming here (always good to see you) and for your post. I was mostly "worried" (ok, a little bit too big word) that the version ( 1246 ) in the standalone SysInspector was newer than what we users (well, at least me) of NOD32 got ( 1245 ). But to my pleasant surprise I got version 1246 ( 20150121 ) today when I checked for updates. So, all is well. Thanks and best regards, Jan
