any opinions yet on how well it does and which operating system is being used? XP should benefit more from this than newer windows versions.
I don't think I would install software like this even if I were payed to do so. If you want to improve your computer's performance, you need to actually investigate what is not performing well. That will usually vary from computer to computer. e.g. Hard disk grinding? Look in Process Explorer and see what is using the most memory and disk I/O. Is the swap file full? Is the antivirus doing background scans when it shouldn't? Mouse lag everywhere? See if your mouse/trackball needs cleaning. if that doesn't work, try a different mouse. It's surprising how much impact a bad mouse can have. Disk I/O mysteriously slow? Check that your disk has empty space left on it. If it does, check that your hard disk is not defaulting to PIO mode, and that your ATA controller drivers are up to date. Computer running slow and hot? Fans running loudly? Might be time to break out the canned CO2... Point is, there is no magic-bullet solution for performance issues. I've looked, I've tried dozens of tweaks, I've been there. A knee-jerk fix will never be as effective as actually diagnosing the problem and solving its root cause. Sysadmins don't do tweaks; they do diagnostics. Even for free, you'll save more time by figuring out what the issue is - and if there is no solution, at least you'll know not to waste further time looking for one.
Dynamic priority is of some use. I dont know enough about system cache to toy with. If you dont have or like process lassoo this could be an alternative Running on xp pro
