Thanks I don't need it, having the full version of Office 2013 but I recall that open source office suites suffered with contingency tables. My business partners couldn't work with my sheet, so I exchanged partners :-D So I was just curious if the new libreoffice is better.

 

Seems better. But still not 1/1 Office compatible for documents. Also no compatibility with Office Plugin's means nobody around here can use it. For example PERRLA is required for a huge number of students (graduate or otherwise), without that support it means Libre isn't viable.

 

I might switch from the older WPS Office beta I have (last one that an save docx) sooner or later.

Tried it on a few powerpoint and word documents. First impression is positive, also the launch time of libre office itself is reduced on Windows when loading libreoffice at start up.

Looks nice, I havent used LibreOffice within a year or so, going to give it a try. Thanks for the review.

 

I lurk here quite a bit and rarely post, but had to comment.

I favor lighter programs and had been using Jarte until I ran into a problem opening a Word doc from work (despite having the appropriate plug-ins).
I saw this review and decided to try Libre...
I'm impressed! I'm not a power user, but do require some cross-platform functionality. I can't add anything substantial to the review--I agree with it completely.

I find it to be pretty intuitive so far, and it has so far met my (admittedly limited) expectations.

I must agree that I am impressed with this update. I may well consider going Ubuntu/LibreOffice instead of Windows 10, especially considering Microsoft's recent track record with Windows Updates.
