    I think it is not the first time malware used SNS as C&C, neither usage of BITS.

    I always disable BITS, it's a security risk.

    Description of service says that system updates are not possible if service is disabled. Do you temporary enable it each time you update your system?

    Yes correct. But I have to admit that I don't update regularly. I only install updates once in a while, they sometimes do more bad than good.
