Hi Tonight my hard drive failed. I have a need to wipe all data from it. Is there a way to do it? This is about My Failed ASUS ROG GR20 If you have an interest in that saga the thread is here. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/asus-rog-g20-my-experience.372006/
Here is a menu of options - http://www.datastroyer.com/press/blog/252-hard-drive-data-destruction-equipment.html " You pays your money and makes your choice "
If you want you can try to take the magnets out while you're at it. Most are usually pretty brittle and get damaged trying to take them out, but they are strong.
Degaussing seems like a good option. Have to look for a place that has a strong one or rents them out. Hammers, nails, power drills etc wouldn't work in this case, but I always remove the drive and do that sort of thing when an old PC breaks down.
