I'm using Chrome because Chrome has a repository for Fedora which is allowed. I'm getting a small lump on my head where I've been banging it because I have tried everything to get Chromium on Fedora 21. What I want is a distro that out of the box has SELINUX, the ability to use Cinnamon and a repository set up for Chromium. Arch? Gentoo? What are my options? I may have to bite the bullet and learn how to set up SELINUX from scratch on Mint or something. Ideas? Really LOVING Linux.
You can get Google Chrome in Fedora. With Fedora, browse here with your current browser, like Firefox: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html Your Linux should be detected by the page. Click on Download, and you should be presented with a choice of 32 and 64 bits installers in DEB and RPM format. Get the RPM.
Thanks I have Chrome now on Fedora. I'm baffled why that is allowed whereas they appear adamant against Chromium. It seems to be more related to someone having to maintain a repository for Chromium than security issues as far as I can tell.
Callaway used to maintain a Chromium repository for Fedora but let it slip some time ago. I bought a new pack of dvd's and am going to try some different distro's. I just came across a Chromium page that shows Chromium no longer uses SELINUX for a sandbox layer so I'm not sure how much different SELINUX distros are for someone like me.
