Wow, I'm happy to be apart of this long lasting community. I started on these forums as Windows power user long ago looking for the best anti malware/virtualization tools and years later I'm a Linux user and I still visit here every day for the latest news on privacy, anti-privacy, etc.

    Wilders your awesome.

Uhh..., 10 years in.. do I get a cake or something from the mods :D

I owe Wilders a lot of things. Especially the older members of the ten-forward club back then. Thank you all. It's been 10 years for me too. I've literally grown up on these forums, I was 12 when I joined here first. The mods and admins here in the early days have helped me with a multitude of issues, I have still not forgotten that.

A big thank you to Wilders for being an important part of my childhood that continues to this day. There are a lot of things other than just security issues I learnt on this forum (it was the first forum I joined).

I'm pretty sure that I knew this website when I was searching info about CHIPSes. Quite a high-end entry point if you asked me.

EDIT: Yes, I know I need 8 more years to be on the same level as you are. But still, I also want to appreciate this place. A lot of things I have learned. It's really too bad that I'm not much use since my knowledge is very limited. :( Although I'm happy enough to see how open the possibilities can be by more and more reading.

    You're pretty smart Graf.
    Don't sell yourself short.

And yes, these forums have been very interesting and helpful to me as well.
LOTS of really informed members and (usually) civil.

Thanks to Wilder's for all you do to share knowledge.

I don't think I am that knowledgeable honestly. ^_^" Though I truly appreciate if people think otherwise.

Happy Anniversary! I originally came here worrying about the inefficacy of my AV on Windows and looking for security tips. I also now use Linux; the ultimate security app! ;)

Same over here, I joined because I got fascinated with HIPS and related tools like sandboxing, and 10 years later I still am. But I have really enjoyed the last 10 years. Actually, I can't even imagine why I took a break from 2010-2013, I missed so much fun.

Congratulations for your long stay in the forum apathy. My 10 year anniversary will have to wait until later this year.

Remember it is not the number of posts, but the contribution of knowledge that matters. And what posts I have seen from you have been valuable. :)

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary visiting Wilders. My 10th year will be in April 2015. I have my morning coffee here every day, and check in periodically during each day, and check new posts before I go to bed. There's always something to learn, software updates I need, and new apps to try. Once in a while I even have something to add to a conversation. :)

Wow. Think I stumbled in here in 2005. In those days nod32 was king. We're all tragics. My oldest memories are of Bellgamin & Easter great posters. And Stapp - Mr. firewall. And a bloke by the name of Trajm who used to love Dr. Web i think. And after ten years Ronjor's Avatar is still as fresh as ever. Or did he used to have a woolly sheep? And DefenseWall ruled the nonAV security programs.

Been dropping in here for ten years now....

I came to dig info on AVs & I discovered nod32 v2. Still numero uno in my book of memories of favorite AVs. And my other honorable mention goes to DefenseWall. The 32bit Superstar. To my recollection, no bug ever breached it.

9+ years here. I'll be at 10 end of this year. It's actually like 12 for me... I started with a different handle...

Wilders needs to have a 10 year badge for us board veterans.

Yes y`all should be awarded something, maybe a golden floppy disk or a Wilders cape to wear when online.

As a toddler I still find some of the older threads and posts very good sources of info hence I`m now running Private Firewall(amongst others)due to very in depth replies from the venerable bellgamin on the subject.

    Regards Eck:)

Then you really would need some good realtime security to protect it, but don`t be telling me what that is just incase it gives me a few ideas.:ninja:

Ten years next month... time goes by quickly!

In all of these years, I haven't seen much change in the way home users get infected with malware/spyware... the same tried and true methods.

I also have been on and off Wilders for almost 10 years now. I started when they had a social area, but also learned a good deal about security related stuff. I recently added Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit to my machine along side Windows7. I have to say I am very much liking the Linux and thus far see no security issues in association with it.
    Always,
    Wildman
