    There is a risk of hypochondria, but not just through the internet- it's the media at large, especially with doctor talk shows. It's a very double edge sword. I've known doctors who had never recommended the care I needed until I actually spoke up, and sometimes that's the only way stuff gets done. Doctors see you for a few hours out of the year and the results of various test on their monitor, which is fine enough. End of the day though, it's you that has to live with you. Who better to know you?

    But you have to second guess your own opinion too. Like take the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diagnostic_and_Statistical_Manual_of_Mental_Disorders Anyone could read that on their own, and self diagnose themselves with at least 30+ disorders if they tried hard enough.
