I'm VERY confused. It's easy to make a differential or incremental BACKUP. But what about RESTORING a differential and incremental restore? The confusion lies in which file to select to restore. Do I select the LATEST file to restore, and that will restore absolutely everything on the hard drive, at the chronological point on the timeline, of the moment you backed it up differentially/incrementally? All I hear about is backing up, but not restoring, incremental or differential backups.

    Can someone help?

    Thank you.

AFAIK, it works in the following way [I don´t use incrementals, have created some but not restored them].

When you are going to restore an image created in the VD format, the program shows the chain of base and incremental images:
    Base image > Increment 1 > Increment 2…
Then you choose the image to restore, which can be the base or one of the incrementals. If you choose an incremental, the program automatically restores the others that are necessary, and the base.
