Hi, I am running Win 7 and programs on my SSD + all data on a separate HDD. I am shortly going to buy a new SSD, and I was wondering what could be reasons for buying a larger than 128 GB SSD, given that with my setup I am using at the moment around 40 GB. Thanks for your POV.
You could store some of your data on it, if you have had more space. I put some of my data on separate partition on SSD (portable programs, Outlook databases...) so I get all benefits of quick data access and at the same time don't have large system partition to backup (smaller system image). For me 128 GB is enough, but if I had 256 GB I would probably store some other personal data on separate partition also.
Some of the better spec SSD are only available in larger sizes, so it may be that getting larger size gets you more of the attributes I mentioned.
You could store some of your favorite video files or instructional videos or music or programs to make it easier
What do you think of the Crucial M550? They're using 64 Gbit NAND for their smaller drives, for faster write speed. Also they have capacitors for power-loss protection, which I gather is rare among consumer drives. What other brands offer consumer drives with that feature?
