In the past, only iTunes used to install a service called Bonjour that spies on user habits and send them I don't know where.

I would immediately notice my performance is less and by simply uninstalling it, everything goes back to normal.

You would get a message when you launch iTunes that it is not found but it doesn't affect the functionality of iTunes.

Now while I am installing my apps after a format, I think one of the games I install (probably Battlefield 4 but not sure as I install them all in one shot) install it. Then I uninstall it and proceed to install my others apps, other than iTunes, another app is installing Bonjour as well. Seems like it is trying to invade us and what's worse, it isn't detected as a PUP by any AV :(

I hate Bonjour. It causes all kinds of network problems. I'm of the opinion that if I wanted to run Apple software, I will get a Mac. It's pretty much a given that Apple software works better on their own stuff, but since I don't own any of their hardware, their software is not for me.

Nah, this has been going on for a long time. Adobe has been including it with the suites for years. I think Adobe Bridge uses it.

ahhh yes Thank you! that was it!

here are the programs the install Bonjour silently to track your usage habits and slow down your PC:

    - iTunes
    - Logitech Gaming Software for Logitech Gaming Mice
    - BlackBerry Link
    - BlackBerry Blend

In the case of BlackBerry software, it doesn't actually install Bonjour but it installs some service called RIM mDNS Responder which is the exact same thing! In the past (over 2 years ago) bonjour always had this process running as well, mDNSResponder.exe and you would feel as if this is not your PC! as if you downgraded it! the moment you end the process everything is back to normal.....

    the undetected spyware......

I don't install Apple software on my PC, it installs way to much crap. The Apple Software updater is annoying as well, offering to 'update' software that is not even installed.
If you have need of iTunes, use it in a VM.
A shame to hear Logitech is now bundling Bonjour as well.

It's not just Bonjour, it's other products like BitRaider, HiPatch, and a few others (forgot the names). These are background network applications that need to be uninstalled, most of them also allow remote torrent connections to your PC to share bandwidth for streamers. You'll often find them taking up a good chunk of your bandwidth without your awareness.

ESET and EMsisoft are good at detecting sneaky adware and background torrent crap. Emsisoft is the only one that detects Mixpanel as malware.

+1, and thanks for the info about Mixpanel and Emsisoft I never knew that although I see Emsisoft is a bit more aggressive against bad sites (which is good)

    take for example,

    if you visit:

    xxxxxxxxx.jpg

    or

    http://www.fotosizer.com/Download.aspx

Can't you just remove it from add/remove programs?

I have seen many cases where bonjour isnt even listed in add/remove programs. I think most of the old versions of apple/adobe products bundled with bonjour do not show up in add/remove programs.

Check raymond's blog below for download link, still alive link from mediafire.

    https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-uninstall-or-remove-bonjour-mdnsresponderexe/

If you look at the comments on raymonds, bonjour is being installed by other programs like Lacie Ethernet Agent too.
