I was working on a Dell Inspiron laptop, it kept BSODing. Tried Commander 64b. Nothing seemed to work. It rebooted, and I guess it restored to factory settings without my consent. Lost all the pictures and everything else. I need a really good recovery program, either bootable or installed. Any help would be much appreciated.
Have you checked out either Easeus Data Recovery or MiniTool Power Data Recovery? I can't really say that I have hands on experience with either one, but have heard some good things about both.

I've used and had generally good results with Recuva. http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/ It's a freeware application. Good luck !
I recuva, there is an option to keep file and folder structure. It is not selected by default. You must select it otherwise the recovered files are just listed as a pile.
Funny how people always think of this after the fact. If documents and pics are so important then they need to be backed up. I image my pc at least 2x/week. Any pics or docs I want I on Google drive or Dropbox.
Exactly.............All the better to have a backup. I tell everyone to backup stuff. Heck even Windows tells you this. But most just close out the pop up. Just like most smart phones are not properly backed up. Any family member, friend or customer that buys a new pc or has a current one I strongly advise them to backup files and pics. My cousin went out and bought a 1TB Western Digital Cloud drive. Smartest move he as made in years.
