System Mechanic is the only one I've used it. It does a good job of improving performance, but it is a product I do not recommend buying for the following reasons. The publisher Iolo uses highly misleading information to market System Mechanic. A good example of this is the claim on their home page that System Mechanic "Fixes over 27,000 PC problems and errors." Yet nowhere do they give any details of these 27,000 problems. When a new version is about to released, you will receive regular emails from Iolo saying not only how "amazing" the new version will be, but also trying to get you to renew your subscription in order to be able to get the new version. The problem is that System Mechanic is licenced on a yearly subscription basis, and as long as your subscription is still current it is valid for any new release of System Mechanic. So, in reality you most certainly do not have to pay anything to use new versions.
System Mechanic Imo & Ime one of the worst pieces of software ever written. I hope anyone who uses this has a recent image to restore from.
@zapjb recent versions of System Mechanic, in theory at least, should never cause any harm to a system. Older versions had the potential to cause problems due to the registry cleaner having minor problems with false positives.
I do not trust software, which you can not trial without purchasing. Their webpage seems dull and cheap, like made in 1998 and their tactics remind me of IoBit lies. If you get it for free in the bundle, give it a try, but make backups before. I would rather recommend WiseCare Free, if you want to use some maintenance software.
Basicly you get all that extra software for free,as the normal Nero 15 Platinum upgrade price costs the same without those extra programs.....
There is a "scan only" trial version. System Mechanic is a much more complete product than WiseCare, with many more features. However, both companies are not honest and claim that cleaning the registry will fix problems and speed up your computer.
Can you point me out to it please? I have downloaded some trial version, but it will not install without a serial. Yes, but not that many really, when you look it up in details. SM just promotes it very well. WC can do ~80% of it for free, not drivers, some features are questionable.
Try downloading it from Softpedia. System Mechanic has a number of features not found in WiseCare, e.g. Disk defragmenter Program Accelerator Driver updater and more. While I have been a registered user of System Mechanic in the past, personally I would avoid both programs due to them not working as well they are claimed to. If you want to fix system problems, tweaking.com's Windows Repair (All in One) will do a much better job than SM or Wise and it's completely free.
WC has disk as well as registry defragmenter. Program Accelerator is just a different way of HDD defragmentation, WC calls it full disk optimization. WC provides additional tools, which are available as addons like an uninstaller, the only free 64-bit out there actually, some functions are paid though. Not to mention boot and memory optimizer, some system and internet tweaks as well as realtime automatic cleaning. They are not so much different.
System Mechanic is better, but I just installed WC and it a decent program. I won't use it personally, as it has a registry cleaner. Free Uninstall It is a better uninstaller - although not as good at finding leftovers as Revo Pro, and does support 64 bit.
Probably, but it is from 2007, I prefer updated software, especially in software affecting system files.

Looks like they both provide the same functions and results, so I would say, that the only difference is GUI.
