Well, yours is (how shall I put this?) "ambiguous"

I can't help wondering what that child is looking at.

And with Mrkvonic's, I'm not at all sure what I'm looking at

    BoerenkoolMetWorst's puzzles me too.

It is pointless to not using your photo as an avatar if you put on your real names, addresses, phone numbers, blood types, etc in your account profiles. Although I must admit that some of these instructions are very sensible, such as:

    ...and...

I assume that with "never post smartphone photos" they meant to not posting photos taken by the smartphones. As we know, lots of data is stored in them, and geotagging makes it even worse.

    What about mine then? :D

Well, it's an anime character, right?

I'm not enough of an anime geek to know which one, though. Could be a demon wielding a 50 meter sword, for all I know ;) What's that object behind your head?

Mine is almost certainly Christian by origin, but I like it because it reminds me of LSD visions, and also evokes VPNs :D And it is, by the way, in the public domain.

Yeah... speaking of avatars... I tried running your pic by the chrome extension "google pic search" to no avail. And if I may ask, what exactly is going on with that fine looking Asian woman anyway? Is it the agony or the ecstasy?
Please hook me up with the movie or whatever the heck the source material may be. Much obliged assuming you ever check this thread out again!

Well, "MOAR!" does rather imply ecstasy. But with enough levels of irony, who knows?

Sorry for intercepting conversation, but simple googling showed your avatar is Toyoto-Mimino-Miko (well, 豊聡耳神子―name itself talks much in my mother tongue) who is a character in Toho-Project, works (especially shooting games) by Team Shanghai Alice, right?

I guess mine will be harder to find because I had to cut original pic as Wilders blamed it for being too large.:thumbd:

I knew you would say that, just like what most people did. And it is wrong. :p

    Earmuffs, supposedly.

The romanization is off a bit, but yep. Uncle Google really solves all the problems, just like rocket launchers. ^w^

    YEAH!

Anyway, it makes me slightly wondering of why it is the FBI who issued the instructions to the US military personnel. Why not the Air Force/Army/Navy Institutions, or the Ministry of Defense, or even NSA for that matter?

Well, if some I* wannabe shoots some troop on US soil, it will be the FBI that gets stuck investigating. They're just trying to get out of work ;)

I take it as you were joking lol. It's just made no sense if it is the FBI who issued the instructions. This is supposed to be NSA's job. o_O

2014 (almost 2015) and you'd think they'd be well briefed on that sort of stuff in the same way kids are. Though all the security in the world don't protect you from what you put out there yourself, and so on and so on. But I also get why they wouldn't have them go all out like some of us (by avoiding Facebook), Facebook's ability to keep in contact with family boost morale, and honestly, just too hard not being in contact with family being away in various places.

I'd be more concerned with other countries who have larger resources profiling troops and whatnot.

Also I'm Gooseman (ULTIMATE STREET YACHT BATTLE).

    Stairway to heaven. :thumb:

Also keep in mind guys, of sites like TinEye, that can do reverse image searches.

Although mine is just downloaded from the Internet, I believe I'm the only one using this avatar. Could just use an anime one, but this is part of my identity by now lol.

@mirimir thanks for the exclamation (!) clarification. I, as in MOAR"I" would have been inclined to be misguided otherwise. And as a rather militant skeptic to Christianity (and all religious affinities as well), I can certainly appreciate your further elucidation about your own avatar as well. Suffice it to say that your avatar strikes a certain common wave length, if I may. ;)

Well, some of the advice seems sensible enough, but seems to have the "good intentions" characteristics of airport security. Visible but useless.

The missing risk is the back-end of much-more-convenient databases that WILL be lost, leaked and sold.

I can reveal that MOAR is the yet-to-be-leaked name of the programme of webcam blackmail surveillance, and this picture is a sample of the material.

Incidentally, identity leakage happens to an extent in all the material a person writes/shows online. Apart from keystroke production, I saw that the way people use pronouns is fairly characteristic, and coupled with favourite words, is fairly diagnostic. So if you have a tranche of known text from a person, innocuous though it might be, you might be able to link it to their online presence, careful as they might be with pictures, vpns and so on.

PS - cynical old me also suspects that they want to restrict the taking of some of the images that have proved so deadly to the narrative of freedom loving democrats - the ones of Abu Gharib come to mind.

Oh thank you. I actually was looking for an alternative to Google's service because my laptop fan always get so noisy whenever I upload image from my computer to Google's reverse image search box. TinEye even has an HTTPS page. Lovely! :)

Mine is Forever Alone 3D ... very simple.
The smiling crying spud ... rendered beautifully!
It does look like ~possibly offensive phrase removed~, I must admit.

For some reason, that reminds me of a very short movie, featuring this old man, who is contemplating a potato, and crying ;)
    It reminds me of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_figurines

Maybe what the model is thinking ;)
