Sure but they could have shortened it to T-Pup to make it less silly. Anyways. That's just one of my issues with Linux are those weird names.

USA still the best. But barely.
Every once in a while I try to install Puppy on a internal hard drive. It's always been convoluted, had to search how to & mostly didn't work. This 6.0 though was EASY PEASY to install just followed the prompts, no searching, nada.

Agree, on the other hand, this is against Windows 10?! I like T-pup though.

I believe puppy linux is to be ran using a live cd rather than an actual installed os.This distro is more aimed at older hardware and computers etc.

    Its a nice light distro,

Can run live, or as a pendrive (frugal install). Barry Kauler is experiementing with Quirky with:

    • "To use full Linux installation in a flash drive or Linux filesystem/partition (other Puppy Linux builds have a technique for minimal install called Frugal install)"
The pendrive version is very nice, and you can achieve the same effect as the live cd by whipping the usb stick out once loaded into ram - but also you can update it if you leave it in - best of both worlds. Works fine off a little micro sd card...

Can you boot from a micro SD card?

Via a little usb3 reader - certainly. I'm peeved that the bios doesn't allow booting from built-in sdhc drives as I'd prefer that, but obviously they don't have the drivers for the readers.

It would have been a great feature of a motherboard to be able to boot from an SD.

Indeed, though I'm running on Tahrpup right now on a little Lexar 16G micro sd card via their tiny usb3 stick - excellent.

There's a lot to like in the Tahrpup, particularly with the deb and ubuntu packages.

Don't think this is a goer - the Tahrpup release notes don't mention, but the livecd is 199M. The recent Slackware release was referring to 256M min, 512M recommended for the non-PAE version. It's possible that one of the older retro pups might work for you but it's a stretch!

Be aware that this version is quite well equipped with most applications you're likely to need, although it's still small, so it's not really designed for minimal systems.
