Oh I see, oh well, I installed it anyway, seems much snappier but when I add AdBlock Plus or AdBlock Edge the icon doesn't appear anymore, everything else is working fine

Sure...you do as you wish, but you shouldn't be posting about it being released imo, and there could be some further changes before official release.

But Major Geeks also just posted it bro, seems pretty official to me, and the URLs are from the FTP server and named as a final version not beta:

I see, and this FTP thing has happened before with MGs and FF. The developer has nevertheless not yet officially announced v25.

I had to go back to Firefox proper because at least two of my extensions stoped working
I do hope they put their act together, being with FF 32 reminded me why I'm with Palemoon

You have the option also to install the ESR version of FF, which might better suit your needs: Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Download Firefox Extended Support Release in your language — Mozilla
You could also report the incompatible add-ons to Pale Moon devs.
And you could go back to PM 24.7.2 if you wanted to.

I have not yet encountered incompatibilities (excepting the ABP icon 'issue') with my own add-ons, not sure if many have had such a problem which would force them to uninstall PM afaik.

edit: I've since realised that Privacy Badger is not working, without icon in statusbar. Without workaround as yet.

Reporting anything on their forum has become recently ever since they got new mods. All they tell you is to start with a new profile, that's about the only advice or help they can offer which is useless. Major add-ons like AdBlock Plus and AdBlock Edge stopped working, when they are installed, they don't even appear on the top toolbar in Pale Moon anymore. Every new version of Pale Moon seems to be getting worse and worse ever since they steered off basing their builds in FF 24 ESR which is now outdated obviously. Also speed wise, I benchmarked both and FF with its new Gecko Engine updates is much faster.

Here's the proof, if you run a browser speed test on the following site with both Pale Moon and FF you will see how is much faster:

    Browser Speed Battle

AdblockPlus is fully functional...it's just a missing icon, I checked. Please read above etc.

ESR version is 24.8.1 which is patched and supported at the moment.

Getting facts straight doesn't seem to be a priority for you...

No it IS NOT FULLY functional and only the icon is gone, that's why one of the mods created a patched version of the add-on ( httx://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5881&start=30 ), thanks for him but one now needs to be worrying about this add-on and that add-on's functionality and any updates and it's broken again, no reason for all this hassle when Pale Moon brings nothing to the table other than a decent interface.

In the past, I loved it because it did beat FF so much in terms of speed and page loading thanks to it being able to utilize multi-CPU cores and other optimizations, but as FF got updated, Pale Moon started to collect dust and now is actually trailing behind with only headaches.

If you read their forums, you will see the myriad of problems stuff like Google.com acting weird, Google Maps not working, Flash Based videos stuttering, the list goes on. A question then comes to mind.......why bother?

I think you've perhaps misunderstood about AdblockPlus. Are you suggesting they're saying it's "fully functional" (sans icon) when it's not? Just missing icon in statusbar, otherwise ok (as stated).

I don't agree that "Pale Moon brings nothing to the table other than a decent interface"....but I'm going to refrain from any attempts to convince you otherwise.

You should take into account that Pale Moon now has 500,000+ users, and on a Support Forum you would be likely to see users with a few issues, as is evident. Hardly a "myriad of problems" as you suggest.

I feel Palemoon is going its own way while trying to keep what's best from FF (ad-ons, config)
I'm not sure if it's a viable goal, and/or they have the resources

I was one of the first Pale Moon usrs and went on promoting it on every forum. So don't get me wrong, I love it, and still do, and will return to it once it has been properly polished up as in, addons work, all sites work without telling me the version of browser I am using such as outlook.com is not supported or I am running on an older version of Firefox. Otherwise, I love its interface so much that I would stop using FF immediately once it has been fixed up and improved on performance which is once was, as in, it was faster than FF back then when I started using it @ version 16. So I am not dissing Pale Moon, I am the one who created this thread as I had high hopes on v25 to bring something new to the table.

I suggest you read this page under the Speed comparison heading.

    http://www.palemoon.org/technical.shtml

Also the claim of Pale Moon having issues. I suggest you have a look at the Firefox forums or any
other forums that report the many issues with Firefox.

I don't know of any browser that doesn't have problems that need to be addressed.

Adblock Edge is working fine here with the update from (https://addons.palemoon.org/extensions/privacy-and-security/adblock-edge/) with the icon showing. I only use three addons, NoScript, Disconnect and Adblock Edge and as long as they are working in Palemoon I'm ok with that. Another reason is that Palemoon works great with Sandboxie. Never really had a problem with either program as have been using both for a few years now.

I installed PM 25 yesterday and like it since its speed seems to be faster and no problems, just a few minor extensions that didn't/don't work right.

ABP and Adblock Edge have already been fixed so that their icons are showing. If you decide to install one of these 2, please remove the existing one prior to installing the Pseudo-Static one.

    https://addons.palemoon.org/privacy-and-security/

I guess that many peeps have forgotten that when Firefox update(s)d at their 6 weeks interval that some of their extensions broke.

Moonchild has chosen a different path for Pale Moon and that may initially cause a few problems. I'm convinced that in time all will be well. :)

@niki, I was just in the Palemoon forum and seen the new Pseudo-Static update for Adblock Edge. I edited my above post to show the same.

Thanks wolfrun. Ah yes, I've been hanging out in PM forum for hours today and yesterday. Lots to read there! Tobin must be very busy in replying in the forum and fixing broken extensions.

This morning I deleted Adblock Edge and installed the new Pseudo-Static ABP one and to my surprise the Pseudo-Static Adblock Edge was ready in the afternoon. Keeping ABP for now. Some PM users are not too happy ..... but I am.

At least 2 months ago Moonchild and or Tobin requested many Fx extension developers to adjust their extensions for Pale Moon but very few of them responded. :thumbd: I think that many developers are wary due to Firefox 6 weekly updates that often affect their extensions.
