On my machine I use firefox 32 for my regular browsing. I also have JonDoFox on a thumb / flash drive that I use with my VPN. Is there any way to block / stop firefox 32 located on the (C) drive from working while connected to my VPN? So that only the hardened version of firefox JonDoFox on the flash drive will work? I've been looking everywhere and messing with firewall settings and simply cannot figure out a way to get this to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Windows firewall should be capable of that, based on executable names or signatures of some sort. Right?
This is probably not the best suggestion but: 1. Set the normal connection to profile A (use whatever you wish) 2. Set the VPN connection to profile B (use whatever you wish) 3. On the VPN connection profile, set the outbound connections setting to "Block" 4. Modify the allow outbound rule of non-hardened jelly version of Firefox by unchecking the VPN profile in the applied connection profiles setting. If there was none, create one and then modify it just as stated The jelly Firefox shouldn't be able to connect when on the VPN. Note: You may need to create an allow outbound rules for the JonDoFox browser. And as a friendly reminder, backup all the rules before messing around with it. Note 2: You may also need to disallow outbound connections for the jelly Firefox related components (such as updater, plugin-container, telesomething etc) and third-party plugins.
