    Hi

I am trying out the latest Macrium reflect on a new W8 pc and it does not work to use the restore function - i am doing it the same way as always and here is a guide to illustrate the steps i take - http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50079.aspx

When booting the Pc totally ignores the WinPe disk and goes directly to the desktop - i even tried to change the boot order even if it is not necessery

Whats up !.. i am going crazy here .

I'd recommend making another Macrium rescue cd/dvd then. Maybe there's something wrong with the one you're using.

    As i wrote - i have done 2 different dvd`s a couple of times each ! EACH .

Not one - but two - meaning i have used 2 different disc`s and remaked both of them a couple of times each so i created at least a WinPe record 5 or 6 times .

The fact that it works with Easus says that it is nothing related to the Pc since no Changes to it is necessary to get thoose programs to work .

I see. Do you have another computer to test the Macrium boot discs with?

The same computer can boot with some media and not with others, it depends on the type of computer and in the way the medium was built. You seem to be using a UEFI computer. How did you build the medium? Is it a 64-bit medium?

    pb1,

In the Boot Menu, when you try to boot that DVD, do you see two choices. UEFI and non UEFI for the DVD?

Did you select the UEFI choice in Macrium when you made the DVD?

    Hi

Thanks for your replys guy`s .

When i made a boot disc with Macrium it is a automatic process because it senses what computer one has and chooses accordingly - in my case right now on a W8-64b pc it makes a WinPe 5.0 . The same goes for Easus . A couple of Days ago i got the same result as i am writing about here on a W8.1-64b Pc .

Does anyone of you use Macrium on a W8 Pc ?...if so what version of Macrium and does it work flawlessly ?

The thing is that i am doing it just as it says in the guides on the Macrium site and Macrium is W8 compatible - and the fact that i got the same result on 2 pc`s makes me puzzled since i am sure there are many Macrium user that do not experience the problems i do . There must be - otherwise the net would be filled with posts of this problem .
I do not understand this , the only thing that i see as potentialy rational right now is that it has something to do with HP pc`s since the 2 i have tested it on are of that brand .

I use it on Windows 8.1 with all updates installed and latest version of Macrium. I have UEFI with Secure boot enabled and it works with no problems.
