Does it work ok as a scan one/second opinion Virus scanner?

Does you need to download again to get new definitions or does it update itself?

NPE should not really be considered a "second opinion" scanner but more of a rescue tool if an infection is detected and can't be removed by other programs. Even then great care should be taken as it can have false positives and has been known to remove critical system files with the result of your machine no longer being able to boot. Use NPE at your own risk. :doubt:
