I've been a CCleaner for a while now and always wondered how many of the options people choose under the applications 'windows' section as there are quite a lot to choose from? I figured it's not like messing with the registry, but I didn't want to experiment without some potential feedback. So what do you select (for all options I suppose)?
Depends on what you want to clean without causing OS problems. I like to clean out CCleaner own language files and also .log files written to my main hard drive. I use [Include] in Options to specify applications installed as well as other locations be it another drive or USB. Things like Temp\** , Languages\**, searchplugins\** etc.
Apparently you're using winapp2 (items marked *) that goes far deeply in cleaning and one needs to be careful which options are checked. While this addition is quite safe to use (creator is doing great job) it isn't supported by developers. So it's up to you to decide. I used this addition in the past but removed it because it cleaned pretty deeply and I had experienced a few issues. On the contrary I checked all the default items except net passwords and free up space and have observed no issues.
Indeed, I love cleaning utilities, but I prefer to be safe than sorry, I actually had to reinstall after using winapp2. Going to try it again though. EDIT: Nevermind, I use CCleaner in case of browser's problem, ussualy it is like one-two-three clicks/secs and done, I am not gonna wait for a minute just to launch it.
