    Why do you have to remove it? Just don't access it. Use Bing or something else. Some day you may want to do a comparison.

    Shouldn't about:blank fix it?

    If you click the icon at far right of toolbar (it is icon of 3 horizontal bars), then click "Customize", then grab the Google search bar you do not like and move it off the toolbar. Then click exit customize. I think that work for what you want. (Also agree you can do Preferences-General-Startup-When Firefox starts- choose Show a blank page.)

    I already use the address bar above to Google. The extra search bar just takes up space and looks annoying to me.

    @GrafZeppelin
    Well I like to have my speed dials in a new page instead of a blank one.

    Well Bo, I want my speed dials in a new page and no other annoyances. The extra Google Search bar was introduced in the last FF version 30. Before that the new page was clean with only speed dials.

    @Tipsy
    Customize only shows: 56768.png

    No way to drag the extra Google Search bar here as it doesn't even appear in Customize.

    Ah yes it worked. Thank you so much. No Google search annoyance now.:)
