Hello, I am using a newer Windows 7 laptop and I am having a problem with my wifi after sleep or a reboot in that the wifi has trouble connecting again and takes a long time to do so. Once connected it is fine and never get kicked off or any other issues just the reconnect. The initial set up took instantly when I first put in security code for wifi so I am not sure if it is a router problem or Windows 7 but I was leaning towards Windows 7 because when I googled this I found tons of comments with the same problem. Has anyone here dealt with this before and if so what did you do to fix? I saw multiple comments about uninstalling wireless card and then on reboot it would reinstall and hopefully fix issue but does that sound right? As I am hesitant to uninstall wireless for fear of losing it permanently so want to make sure it is okay to try that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Probably a Windows issue. Do you have it set up as DHCP? How is the power management set for the adapter? Also, what firewall are you running?

What's your laptop model? (to find the drivers)

    That was my first thought.

Thanks for the replies. The laptop is a Gateway NE56R13U and seems to have an Atheros AR5B125 wireless adapter. I have already changed the wireless adapter power to Maximum Performance based on something I had already found on web but it did not seem to make much if any difference. Is that what you meant by power management? Also I am running Tinywall as my firewall but I plan to uninstall it and see if that could be the issue. Thanks again.
