OK, I have written a review of CentOS 7 64-bit KDE edition, a distribution based on RedHat Enteprise Linux (RHEL) 7, covering live session, installation and post-install use, including Wireless (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth, Samba sharing, partitioning difficulties and installer errors, desktop look & feel, command-line only package management, problems with third-party repository contents, applications, customization, desktop effects, printing, resource usage, stability, suspend & resume, various, and more. Take a look.

That's pretty sad to see. I assume these are gonna get polished over time.

I wonder if its due to a focus on server technologies (which is the most common use of Centos) rather than desktop.

Maybe but Mrk's previous review of CentOS 6 wasn't as bad. Can't help but could this have had anything to do with the fact that CentOS is now under RedHat?

"Kill the idea of desktop use"?
